Two arrested after police seize $10K worth of drugs, plus weapons

Two Kitchener residents are facing 25 charges after police seized drugs, weapons and cash during a traffic stop in Kitchener.

Police pulled over a vehicle late Friday night in the area of Weber Street East and Highway 8.

During the investigation, police located $10,000 worth of drugs, including suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine and numerous prescription pills, as well as an air gun, brass knuckles and cash.

A 27-year-old man and 39-year-old woman were jointly charged with the following offences:

  • Eight counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of an unauthorized weapon
  • Breach probation 

The male suspect was also charged with driving while under suspension.

Both accused were held in custody for a bail hearing.
