Transport truck driver charged after crash last week in Wellesley Township

A 77-year-old man driving the pickup had to be taken to hospital for non-life threatening injuries; a 72-year-old transport truck driver has since been charged with failing to yield to traffic

Regional police have charged a transport truck driver in connection with a two vehicle crash in Wellesley Township last week.

Officers were called out to the Ament Line and Lichty Road area on Friday afternoon where the transport and a pickup truck collided, resulting in the truck rolling over.

A 77-year-old man driving the pickup had to be taken to hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the 72-year-old transport truck driver has since been charged with failing to yield to traffic.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is being asked to come forward.
