Teen charged in Kitchener robbery, stabbing

A 15-year-old Kitchener male has been charged in connection with a robbery and stabbing incident in the city.

Waterloo Regional Police were called to the area of Strasburg Road and Block Line Road, just before 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The victim was approached by a suspect, armed with a knife, who demanded personal belongings. The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim before taking items and fleeing the area on foot.

Police say the victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The accused has been charged with robbery with a weapon, weapons dangerous and two counts of failing to comply with court orders.

He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
