A 25-year-old man is dead after a single vehicle collision on Shantz Hill Road in Cambridge (Oct. 21, 2021)

A 25-year-old London man is dead after a single vehicle collision on Shantz Hill Road near Preston Parkway. 

Waterloo Regional Police say the driver of a Lexus lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and hit a hydro pole.

It happened around 3 a.m. on Thursday.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said it was too early to determine of speed or weather played a factor.

Shantz Hill was reopened to traffic over the noon hour. Hydro crews also needed to repair the damaged hydro pole.
