Police seize several guns from Kitchener home

On February 25, 2021, Waterloo Regional Police received a report of weapons at a residence located in the area of Benesfort Crescent in Kitchener.

Police received information that a male was in possession of several guns.

A search warrant was completed at the residence on February 26, 2021; however, the suspect was not located at the home.

As a result of the search warrant, police seized a loaded shotgun, two .22 calibre rifles, a handgun, a pellet gun, one antique flint handgun, ammunition, bear spray and a quantity of pills.

The firearms were not stored in a proper manner.

Later on February 26, during an unrelated call for service, police located the suspect.

As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old Kitchener male has been charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, unsafe storage of a firearm and firearm possession contrary to a prohibition order.
