Police seize fentanyl, suspected cocaine in Kitchener

Regional police have seized suspected drugs following a traffic stop in Kitchener on Friday afternoon. 

According to the service, that stop was conducted at approximately 12:20 p.m. by the Direct Action Response Team, as officers on proactive patrol stopped a vehicle on Homer Watson Boulevard near Highway 401. 

As a result of that traffic stop, police seized roughly 55 grams of suspected cocaine, approximately nine grams of fentanyl and 33 suspected Oxycontin pills. 

The 20-year-old male driver and 19-year-old male passenger, both from Kitchener, have been arrested and jointly charged with drug-related charges including:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – oxycodone

The involved 19-year-old has also been charged with breach of probation.
