Police rescue man from storm retention pond

On October 15, 2019, at approximately 3 a.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to the area of Franklin Boulevard and Dundas Street South in Cambridge for a report of a person in distress. 

Upon arrival, officers located a 56-year-old male trapped in a storm water retention pond. 

Officers used a rope to rescue the man from the water.

He was taken to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
