Police make arrest in August robbery

Waterloo Regional Police have made an arrest in connection with a robbery at the Uptown Waterloo Mall on August 10.

According to police, a woman entered one of the businesses and concealed several items into her purse. A staff member was then allegedly assaulted upon confronting the suspect.

On Oct. 18, police arrested a 32-year-old Kitchener woman. She faces charges including robbery, theft under $5,000 as well as two counts of uttering threats.

She was also wanted on three outstanding warrants, with an additional 20 criminal charges. The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Police say during the arrest, a man attempted to intervene and was arrested. A 33-year-old Kitchener man was wanted on two outstanding warrants and was held for a bail hearing.
