Police investigating pair of attempted robberies in Cambridge

An investigation is underway in Cambridge into a pair of attempted robberies.

Both happened shortly after 1 a.m. on Sunday in the area of Franklin Boulevard and Main Street.

Police say a suspect demanded the victim turn over their vehicle. He also stated he had a gun, but no weapon was ever seen.

The victim fought off the suspect, who then fled the area on foot.

According to police, several minutes later, the suspect approached another vehicle parked behind a business. The suspect allegedly pulled a knife and demanded their vehicle. The victim exited their vehicle and ran into a store, the suspect took off on foot.

No one was physically injured as a result of either incident.

The suspect is described as a white male, 18 to 20 years old, approximately 5'9″ tall, with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a dark blue hat and denim jacket.
