Police investigating fatal collision in Wilmot (update)

Waterloo Regional Police have confirmed that a 22-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Wilmot Township. 

The collision occurred at 7:35 p.m. when a black Ford and white Nissan collided at the intersection of Oxford Road 5 and Punkeydoodles Avenue. 

The Wilmot Township woman, who was driving the Nissan, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in that vehicle, a 16-year-old girl was transported to an out-of-region hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

The driver of the Ford, a 19-year-old Oakville teen, was transported to an out-of-region hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The intersection was closed for several hours overnight as police investigated. 

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
