Police investigating assault in Kitchener (update)

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating an assault that occurred in Kitchener. 

On December 21, 2021, at approximately 8 a.m., police responded to the area of King Street East and Morgan Avenue for a report of an assault.

Upon arrival, police located the victim with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers located the two suspects who refused to cooperate with police. Officers negotiated with the suspects for approximately seven hours while waiting for a warrant to be granted.

A 33 year-old male and a 38 year-old female, both from Kitchener, were taken into custody without incident.

The involved parties are known to one another.

The investigation is ongoing.
