Police investigate report of shots fired in Kitchener (update)

A 38-year-old man is facing a long list of charges

An arrest has been made following a report of gunshots in Kitchener Wednesday evening.

Officers responded to the area of Kingsway Drive and Wilson Avenue around 9 p.m.

Waterloo Region Police say a gun was fired during a fight between four men. One of the men also suffered a minor injury as a result of the fight.

A 38-year-old Kitchener man was arrested. The accused faces charges including careless use of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

He's being held in custody for a bail hearing.

There was a heavy police presence in the area during the investigation.
