Regional police are noting there's no concern for safety of the school, staff or students at Wilfrid Laurier University's Waterloo campus following an alleged threat made on Sunday.
According to police, the service received “several reports” from students at WLU regarding an alleged threat made on social media, referencing potential threat towards the university.
Police said that threat warned of an “act of violence” that would take place on Valentine's Day – February 14.
Regional police worked with Laurier's Special Constable Service to investigate that threat, determining together that the threat was “not viable”. As a result, staff at Wilfrid Laurier University said their emergency response protocols were not enacted.
