It was a busy evening for regional police on Friday after the service responded to robberies at three separate pharmacies - all occurring within 90 minutes.
According to police, those incidents sparked investigations in the areas of 535 Belmont Ave. W in Kitchener, 192 Activa Ave. in Kitchener and 140 Union St. E. in Waterloo.
Following those incidents, a spokesperson with the services said there was a warning issued to local pharmacies to make them aware of the incidents. In addition, police reportedly increased patrols at pharmacy locations throughout Friday night.
Police said they're seeking two suspects described as black males with thin builds, armed with knives.
In addition to those suspects, regional police are also asking the public for assistance in providing any information regarding a vehicle that is believed to be connected to those pharmacy robberies.
Anyone with information regarding the three pharmacy robberies is being asked to contact police or Waterloo Crime Stoppers.
Police note that there have been 16 robbery incidents in the region this month alone. Posting on Twitter, the service said those who may be present during a robbery should remain calm, get to a safe location and then call 9-1-1.
