A man wanted on an Ontario-wide warrant in connection with a shooting in Kitchener has been arrested.
Waterloo Regional Police announced in late December that they were searching for 39-year-old Michael Allard of Windsor following the local shooting incident on September 22.
The shooting occurred in the Weber Street and Kinzie Avenue area and saw a 65-year-old Kitchener man shot. The victim was taken to an out-of-town hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. At the time, police said they believed it was a targeted incident.
On January 14, Allard was arrested by Thunder Bay Police and later transported back to Waterloo Region. He appeared in court on Tuesday.
Allard is facing several charges including aggravated assault, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and carrying a concealed weapon.
