Waterloo Regional Police continue to investigate following reports of a barricaded individual in downtown Kitchener.
According to police, that call saw officers respond to the area of Cedar Street South and Charles Street East on Friday evening.
Police had asked members of the public to avoid the area as they resolved the situation.
Posting an update on Friday evening shortly before 6:00 p.m., police said they had taken one male into custody.
There are no physical injuries reported as a result of the incident.
