Police charge man cutting bleachers in Victoria Park Hespeler

A 51-year-old Cambridge man is now facing several charges following a reported theft in progress in that city

According to police, that incident occurred on Friday morning around 5:35 a.m. as police were called to the area of Fisher Mills Road and Clemens Avenue. 

Upon arrival, officers located a man cutting the bleachers of one of the baseball diamonds in Victoria Park Hespeler and arrested him. 

That 51-year-old has since been charged with theft under $5,000, Mischief under $5,000 and possession of break-in instruments. 

Police note their investigation is still ongoing, as they now look to identify and speak with one individual that fled the area at the time of the incident. Officers noted that individual fled in a grey Dodge pickup truck, last seen travelling in the direction of Sheffield Street with a large quantity of metal and equipment in the back. 

The individual in that truck is described as a white male wearing white pants and a white hooded sweater.
