Police have laid charges as a result of a hit-and-run collision in Kitchener.
It happened around 10 p.m. Sunday, in the area of Westheights Drive and Blackwell Drive.
A 30-year-old Kitchener woman, who was a pedestrian, was struck by a vehicle. According to police, the involved vehicle failed to remain at the scene.
The woman was taken to a hospital outside of the region with serious injuries.
Officers later tracked down the alleged driver and vehicle involved in the crash.
A 49-year-old Kitchener man has been charged with dangerous operation causing bodily harm, as well as an accident resulting in bodily harm.
The accused is due in court on January 13, 2023.
