Man airlifted with critical injuries following crash in Cambridge (update)

A portion of Fountain Street in Cambridge was closed Friday morning for a collision investigation.

Police have determined that a car travelling south on Fountain Street North crossed the centre line and struck a dump truck travelling north.

According to a spokesperson with Ornge, an air ambulance responded to the collision.

A Cambridge man in his 20s was transported to Hamilton General Hospital with critical injuries.

The driver of the dump truck, a Waterloo man in his 50s, reported no physical injuries.

Fountain Street North was closed for several hours between Maple Grove Road and Allendale Road. It reopened just after 1 p.m. 

Police continue to investigate.
