Pair of arrests made in stolen vehicle investigation

Two arrests have been made in connection with a stolen vehicle investigation in Waterloo.

The vehicle was stolen from a parking lot Wednesday night, but police were able to locate it within 15 minutes and a traffic stop was conducted in the area of Bearinger Road and Glen Forrest Boulevard.

The driver and passenger were arrested for being in possession of the vehicle. Officers also seized two concealed pellet guns.

Two male youths from Kitchener have been jointly charged with theft of motor vehicle, possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose (two counts), and possession of stolen property over $5,000. One was also charged with three counts of breach of an undertaking. 

The accused were held in custody for a bail hearing.
