Man tries to assault local bus driver, several passengers in Kitchener: WRPS

A scary situation for those riding a Grand River Transit bus in Kitchener on Wednesday night as police report a man attempted to assault the driver and several passengers.

According to police, a male suspect tried to hit the bus driver with an object and when witnesses tried to intervene, the suspect tried to attack them.

This happened around 11:30 p.m. in the Highland Road and Lawrence Avenue area.

There were no injuries reported and a 35-year-old Kitchener man is facing charges including seven counts of assault with a weapon.
