Man flees from police, sets tree on fire

A 42-year-old man is facing numerous charges after fleeing from police and then reportedly setting a tree on fire.

Police say Thursday afternoon, just before 2 p.m., police found a wanted man in the Fourth Avenue area of Kitchener.

According to police, the man ran to a wooded area by Connaught Place where it's believed he set a tree on fire.

The 42-year-old was later arrested and charged with a handful of offences, including arson.
