Man charged following hit and run in Kitchener

A suspect was tracked down by the canine unit

On July 16, 2019, at approximately 10:15 a.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to the area of Fairway Crescent and Lackner Boulevard in Kitchener for a single motor vehicle collision. 

The vehicle was travelling west on Fairway Crescent when the driver lost control and struck a light pole. 

The driver then fled the scene. 

With the assistance of the Canine Unit, the suspect was located a short distance away. 

As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old male was arrested and charged with several criminal offences including, possession of a stolen vehicle, fail to remain, drive while under suspension, and dangerous drive.
