A man from Welland is facing a long list of charges following a traffic stop by Waterloo Regional Police in Cambridge.
The stop was carried out late Sunday evening in the area of Coronation Boulevard and Highland Park. It was after police observed a vehicle that appeared to be speeding.
Upon further investigation, it was learned the driver did not have a valid licence and was suspended from driving. Police also seized a loaded handgun and knife.
A 43-year-old man has been charged with offences including carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, driving while under suspension and failing to comply with a court order.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
