Kitchener woman facing drug charge after stop at RIDE check

On August 12, 2019 members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on Gore Road near Cambridge. At approximately 11:00 p.m. the driver of a grey sedan entered the R.I.D.E. check. 

While speaking with the driver, officers detected an odour of cannabis coming from within the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that that the vehicle was uninsured and the driver was in possession of a quantity of crystal methamphetamine.

As a result of the investigation, Samantha Francine PLOUFFE-CACHON, 28-years-old of Kitchener has been charged with Possession of a Schedule – Substance (Methamphetamine) and Operating a Vehicle without Insurance. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on September 20, 2019.
