Kitchener man facing impaired charge in eastern Ontario

On July 20, 2019 at 8:11 p.m. officers with the Lennox and Addington County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed Hwy 401 Westbound.  Officers conducted a traffic stop just before the Deseronto exit and determined that the driver had consumed alcohol.

As a result of the investigation the driver, Tyrel CHILD, age 31 of Kitchener has been charged with

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) contrary to the Criminal Code, and
  • Speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on the August 13, 2019.
