A Kitchener man is now facing several charges following a reported hit-and-run incident in the Keewatin Avenue and Georgian Street area of that city.

According to police, officers responded to the area around 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, for that reported incident involving a grey Toyota sedan.

Upon arrival police located a woman with minor physical injuries, sustained after the driver of that sedan allegedly collided with her while trying to flee the area before police could arrive.

As a result of their investigation, police have charged a 51-year-old Kitchener man with dangerous operation of a vehicle, assault with a weapon and fail to remain at the scene of a collision.

Police have also indicated that the male is alleged to have uttered racial slurs during the incident – as investigators believe the incident was hate motivated.
