Kitchener driver facing impaired charge near Barrie

A Kitchener driver is facing several charges following an incident in Innisfil.

Officers with South Simcoe Police Service responded to the area of Scythes Street and Dempster Avenue, around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, after receiving a report about a vehicle stuck in a snowbank.

The alleged driver, who was not injured, was arrested.

44-year-old Shaun Hebert has been charged with operation while impaired by drug, operation while prohibited and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

Police point out an impaired charge immediately results in a 90-day licence suspension, as well as a seven-day impoundment of the vehicle.
