Human trafficking team arrests Stratford man

By Blair Adams

A second arrest has been made this week by the joint human trafficking team of Waterloo Regional Police and Guelph Police.

Police took a Stratford man into custody on Wednesday.

It's alleged a man obtained sexual services from the victim, and solicited the sexual services for monetary compensation.

A 31-year-old man now faces charges including human trafficking (under 18), receiving material benefit, and three counts of obtaining sexual services for consideration.

The accused is being held for a bail hearing.

Police say the victim in this case has also been provided with a safety plan, as well as community resources.

Anyone with information about this incident, or anyone with information concerning potential human trafficking victims, are asked to contact the Joint Waterloo-Guelph Human Trafficking team at intel.ht@wrps.on.ca or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
