Five facing charges after police seize replica handgun and drugs

All are residents of Cambridge

Five residents of Cambridge are facing charges after a drug bust in the city.

With the assistance of the Emergency Response Unit, Waterloo Regional Police's Drugs and Firearms Team executed a search warrant at a residence on Dundas Street North, late Thursday afternoon.

Officers seized a replica handgun, as well as suspected methamphetamine and cocaine. 

The value of the drugs is around $2,000.

Three men - 30, 46 and 57 and two women, both 44, were arrested. 

They face charges including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of counterfeit currency and possession of identity documents. 

No names have been released.

Police are reminding residents they can report any suspicious activity anonymously by contacting Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
