Cambridge man facing impaired charges in London

A Cambridge man is facing charges after a vessel was located in Fanshawe Conservation area with an unconscious male inside.

At approximately 7:25 p.m., on Saturday, June 22, 2019, emergency crews responded to a call at 1424 Clarke Road in relation to checking the welfare of a man inside a boat on a lake. Members of the London Fire Department attended and activated their water rescue unit.

A man was located in a boat on the water, and was assisted to shore. The man was transported to hospital by Middlesex-London Paramedic Services.

As a result of the investigation, Vitaliy Danylets, 38, of Cambridge, is charged with impaired, and impaired exceed blood alcohol concentration, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused is expected to appear in London court on July 15, 2019.

Police would like to take this opportunity to remind the public of the dangerous nature of combining alcohol and/or drugs with water sports and the operation of vessels of any kind.
