Cambridge driver charged with impaired after vehicle crashes into Palmerston home

On Nov. 13, 2021, at approximately 7:30 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County Detachment responded to a motor vehicle collision on Main Street in Palmerston involving a motor vehicle colliding with a house. It was further reported that the vehicle left the scene and became disabled on Queen Street shortly thereafter.

Officers located the vehicle and during the investigation, police determined that the driver's ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired and they were placed under arrest.

Justin Christopher McPherson, 24 years old of Cambridge has been charged with operation while impaired – 80 plus contrary to the Criminal Code. 

A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph at a later date.

If you suspect someone is driving while their ability to operate a motor vehicle is impaired, either by drug or alcohol, call police at 911 to report it.
