A Kitchener man is facing various charges after police seized a baton during a traffic stop in Waterloo.

It happened during a proactive patrol Thursday evening, in the area of University Avenue West and Phillip Street.

According to police, a man was arrested on the strength of a warrant.

In addition to the warrant, a 34-year-old man was also charged with driving a motor vehicle with no licence, breaching a release order, as well as breaching a prohibition order.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
