Arrest made in connection with Cambridge stabbing

Regional police have made an arrest following a stabbing in Cambridge.

The incident occurred just before 5 p.m. Wednesday. Officers were called to a residence in the area of Dundas Street North and Chalmers Street North for an assault call.

Upon arrival, police located a male with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to a hospital outside of the region with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 29-year-old Cambridge man has been charged with assault with a weapon, and aggravated assault.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing. Police also say the victim and accused are known to one another.
