Arrest made in attempted robbery in Kitchener

Waterloo Regional Police have made an arrest in connection with an attempted robbery in Kitchener earlier this month.

The incident happened the evening of January 3, in the area of King Street East and Queen Street North.

Police say two occupants in a black vehicle were involved in a physical altercation with three suspects walking along King Street East.

The male driver was stabbed. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A female passenger was assaulted and also transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Thursday, January 13, police took a 20-year-old man into custody. The accused has been charged with aggravated assault, robbery and assault.

Police are looking to identify another male in connection to the incident.

He's described as white, approximately 18 to 20 years old. He was wearing a yellow shirt, blue hooded jacket, red vest, a black and white baseball hat and black pants at the time of the incident.
