Arrest made after male stabbed in Kitchener

Regional police have made an arrest following a stabbing in Kitchener.

The incident happened just before 8 p.m. Thursday.

Officers responded to a residence in the area of Cedarwoods Crescent and Kingsway Drive. That's where they found a male with a stab wound.

The victim was transported to a hospital outside of the region with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 23-year-old Kitchener man has been charged with assault with a weapon, aggravated assault and possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Police also say the victim and accused are known to one another.
