The Kitchener Rangers have traded defenceman Giovanni Vallati to the Oshawa Generals.

Kitchener gets four draft picks in return.

They get Oshawa's second rounder next year, Guelph's second in 2020, as well as Oshawa's third round picks in 2022 and 2023.

Vallati, 18, is entering his third Ontario Hockey League season.

“We felt this was the best move for Giovanni and his family at this time and wish him nothing but the best in Oshawa." Rangers General Manager Mike McKenzie told KitchenerToday.

"He was a key part of our team for the last two seasons and has a bright future.” he added.

Vallati was a fifth round draft pick of the NHL's Winnipeg Jets in June.
