Rangers sign two players

One of those players is Joseph Serpa of Cambridge

The Kitchener Rangers have signed forward and Cambridge native Joseph Serpa.

Serpa, 16, was a fourth round pick (77th overall) by the Rangers in the 2018 draft.

He put up 40 points in his minor midget season with the Cambridge Hawks.

"Since the day we drafted Joseph, his energy and excitement to become a Kitchener Ranger have been more than apparent," Rangers general manager Mike McKenzie said in a news release.

The club also inked defenceman Arber Xhekaj.

Xhekaj, 17, who is from Hamilton, was invited to this week's training camp as a free agent.

He put up 22 points in 46 regular season games with the GOJHL’s St. Catharines Falcons last season.
