Panthers split doubleheader with London

The Kitchener Panthers were able to earn the split in their doubleheader with London over the weekend at Jack Couch Park.

The Majors hit four home runs Sunday afternoon in an 8-4 win in Game 1. Jakob Newton went 2-for-4 with a solo blast and Cleveland Brownlee hit a three-run shot.

Nathan Laird took the loss for Kitchener, allowing six runs over 2.2 innings.

Liam Wilson hit a grand slam for the Panthers. Jett Jarvis and Blake Jacklin each went 2-for-4 with a run.

In Game 2, Jarvis went 2-for-3 with four RBI. Kitchener went on to win the game 11-7.

Christian Hauck (4-3) went five innings for the victory.

Kitchener also fell 9-1 to the Royals in Guelph on Saturday.

The Panthers, now 13 and 20 on the season, are scheduled to play in Toronto on Wednesday evening.
