Panthers pick up home win over Red Sox

Tyler Hinrikus had a big night for the Kitchener Panthers Thursday.

The Panthers shortstop homered and drove in five runs as Kitchener defeated Brantford 14-6 at Jack Couch Park.

Hinrikus also doubled and scored twice.

Nathan Laird (2-0) went two scoreless relief innings for the victory. Brett Reid started and went four innings, allowing five runs on eight hits with four walks and six strikeouts.

The Panthers are now 12 and 18 on the season.

Kitchener is scheduled to play in Guelph on Saturday evening.
