Panthers fall to Leafs in Toronto

Marcus Knecht’s two-run home run in the top of the eighth was the difference in Toronto’s 16-14 win over the Kitchener Panthers Wednesday night at Christie Pits.

The loss means Kitchener is now 13 and 21 on the season.

Knecht finished with three hits and three runs for the Maple Leafs, now with a 20 and 13 record.

Liam Wilson had three hits for Kitchener, including a home run and four RBI.

Grant Shatz took the loss (1-1), allowing two runs on three hits, plus a strikeout in one inning.

The Panthers were set to host Hamilton Thursday evening, but the game has been postponed due to the weather.

The game has been rescheduled for Tuesday, August 16 at 7:30 p.m.
