Laurier takes latest Battle of Waterloo

Bragging rights still belong to Wilfrid Laurier University in the Battle of Waterloo.

The Golden Hawks defeated the University of Waterloo 43-22 in OUA football Thursday night at Warrior Field to improve to 4 and 2 on the season.

For the Warriors, it was the team's fifth straight loss.

Laurier running back Quentin Scott had another strong game. He ended the night with 184 yards and two touchdowns. Receivers Ethan Jordan and Raidan Thorne also combined for over 270 yards.

Golden Hawks quarterback Taylor Elgersma threw for over 300 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception.

Laurier, now ranked ninth in the country, host the University of Guelph on Saturday, October 15.

UW will visit Carleton that afternoon.
