Kitchener’s Monika Caryk files application to clear her name amid cyberbullying allegations

In an attempt to clear her name, Kitchener's Monika Caryk has filed an application with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.

According to court documents obtained by ESPN, Caryk — the fianceé of fellow Kitchener native and Florida Panthers forward Mike Hoffman — is seeking the disclosure of information in a cyberbullying scandal involving Melinda Karlsson, the wife of Ottawa Senators captain Erik Karlsson.

On Thursday, Caryk filed an application called a Norwich Order, looking to have Melinda disclose any information she has regarding the alleged harassment.

Both Caryk and Hoffman have denied the allegations.

Caryk adds the situation has “caused severe damage to both my well-being and reputation.”

And she says in the document that she wants to “expose the real perpetrators responsible for harassment and cyberbullying Ms. Karlsson, and demonstrate to Ms. Karlsson and the public that I have been wrongly accused.”

In early May, Melinda filed an application for a peace bond alleging Caryk posted hundreds of derogatory online messages aimed at her and her husband.

“Monika Caryk has uttered numerous statements wishing my unborn child dead,” Melinda said.

The Karlssons' first child, a son named Axel, was stillborn in March.

This all happened while Hoffman was a member of the Senators alongside Karlsson.

About a week after Melinda's peace bond was filed, Hoffman was traded to the San Jose Sharks and hours later, flipped to the Panthers.
