The 100th Intercounty Baseball League season has come and gone.
And now the real fun is about to begin.
The Jack and Lynne Dominico Cup Playoffs are set to get underway later this week.
The Kitchener Panthers (24-12) snagged the 2nd seed in the IBL, and will take on the seventh seeded Brantford Red Sox (13-23) in the opening round.
Now, it could be a series that goes the full five games if the regular season was any indication.
The Panthers won the season series 3-2, but those two losses showcased plenty of offense for the Red Sox: a 10-9 decision on June 14 and a 15-1 drubbing two weeks later.
And both teams are coming into the post-season on losing skids.
Here is the schedule:
Wednesday Aug 8th at Kitchener 7:30pm
Thursday Aug 9th at Brantford 8:00pm
Sunday Aug 12th at Kitchener 2:00pm
Monday Aug 13th at Brantford 8:00pm *if necessary
Tuesday Aug 14th at Kitchener 7:30pm *if necessary
OTHER SERIES
The Barrie Baycats (27-8) come in as the top seed, and are looking for their fifth-straight IBL Championship.
They'll meet the Burlington Herd (12-24) in a best-of-five series, which starts Thursday in Barrie.
The Guelph Royals (16-20) are the fifth seed, they'll meet the fourth seed Toronto Maple Leafs (16-19) starting Wednesday night.
Before dropping their season finale Saturday to Barrie, Guelph was riding a seven-game win streak.
The fourth series will see the third place London Majors (20-16) play the Hamilton Cardinals (15-21).
Their schedule has yet to be finalized.
