DeSouza homers twice in Red Sox convincing win over Panthers

Nate DeSouza homered twice and drove in four runs to lead the Brantford Red Sox to a 15-1 blowout win over the Kitchener Panthers Thursday night at Jack Couch Park. 

DeSouza hit a solo home run in the third inning and added a three-run blast in the sixth. He also singled, walked and scored four times. 

Andris Rizquez went 3-for-6 with a home run, four RBI and two runs, while Ricky Murray singled, homered and had two RBI and two runs.

Wilson Soriano had three hits and drove in a run while scoring twice, Blake Kauer went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run, and Dennon Koziol scored three times. 

Starting pitcher Graham Tebbit (3-1) benefited from the run support, going seven innings and allowing one run on three hits with nine strikeouts. 

Brian Burton provided the Panthers with their lone run, a solo blast to lead off the bottom of the fifth. 

Christian Hauck (4-1) was touched up for eight runs (six earned) on nine hits in 2.2 innings. He walked three and struck out one. 

Brantford improved to 7-9, and Kitchener fell to 12-6.
