Both Waterloo teams lose in OUA football

The Laurier Golden Hawks had their Homecoming game spoiled in OUA football Saturday afternoon.

The number eight ranked Ottawa Gee-Gees came back to defeat the Golden Hawks 21-19.

A 55-yard field goal from Campbell Fair with zeros on the clock gave Ottawa the win.

Laurier quarterback Taylor Elgersma ended the day with 242 yards, threw one touchdown, and had one interception.

Next up, the Golden Hawks (2-2) play in Windsor on Saturday evening.

Meantime, the University of Waterloo Warriors faced the Western Mustangs in London.

Western put up 43 points in the first half, and cruised to a 66-3 victory. UW did not score until the fourth quarter, a 35 yard field goal from James Wilson. 

The Warriors (1-3) will host the University of Toronto on Saturday.
