Zellers food truck rolls into Cambridge Centre location Mar. 25

Two days after its scheduled opening in The Bay at Cambridge Centre mall, Zellers will welcome the much awaited food truck to Cambridge in an attempt to recreate the in-store diner experience for customers who remember shopping at the discount department store.
On Friday, Zellers' official Instagram page posted the dates for the food truck's appearance in various locations, including Cambridge on Saturday, March 25.
The menu features memorable favourites from the in-store diner, including the Big Z Burger, hot chicken sandwich, grilled cheese, chicken fingers and fries and gravy. Prices appear to reflect the brand's slogan “Where the lowest price is the law” with the burger coming in at $6 and fries and gravy for $3.
The Bay sought input about what items to feature on the menu through an Instagram poll when the brand re-launch was announced in January.
“Zellers is mobilizing a fleet of food trucks to greet customers at its first locations opening this spring,” the company said in a press release. “Set to appear over a series of days, the Zellers Diner on wheels will pull into various locations and serve shoppers with some fan favourites from the fondly remembered Zellers Family Restaurant.”
The Zellers at the Cambridge Center Bay store is set to open March 23 and will be the only location in Waterloo Region.
The Zellers department store was founded in 1931 and acquired by HBC in 1978. Zellers stores closed in 2013.
