As educators prepare to teach from a revised sex-ed curriculum, the Waterloo Region District School Board is looking for more input today, as trustees consider recent changes made by the provincial government.

The change comes after the Ford government temporarily reverted back to the curriculum that was put in place in 2014 that leaves out important information on consent and gender identity, which was previously taught to students through the curriculum put in place in 2015 by the Wynne Liberals.

The revised sex-ed curriculum is up for discussion at a Special Committee of the Whole Meeting which begins at 6 p.m.

Meantime, the Teacher's Union is urging trustees to support those who choose to teach from the 2015 curriculum, and vows to defend any teacher who is reprimanded for doing so.
