A professor from Wilfrid Laurier University has been given a prestigious award for her work in french literature.
According to a release, Dr. Larissa Sloutsky received the cultural award from Les Prix Maupassant on August 5, for her doctoral thesis on the french short story, 'Boule de Suif'.
The release says Sloutsky's thesis focused on the story written by Guy de Maupassant and its cinematographic adaptations. Sloutsky received her Ph.D. in French Literature from Western University.
The event was organized by the Maupassant museum, which aims to provide visitors the chance to meet de Maupassant through a collection of artifacts, documenting his life and history.
