Toyota looking to hire hundreds of new workers in Cambridge

Toyota is looking to fill hundreds of positions at its manufacturing plant in Cambridge.

According to Frank Ricci, Human Resources General Manager of the Toyota plant, the recruitment process started back in November.

“We are preparing for next generation RAV 4. So we currently build that vehicle in Woodstock and with the introduction of the next generation RAV 4, it's a more complex vehicle that requires more people to build,” he told 570 NEWS.

The plant is looking to hire production team members.

“We've been fortunate to be in this community for over thirty years now, and with that we hired many people thirty years ago that are now getting ready for retirement,” explained Ricci.

All production team members will initially be hired on a 52 week contract that's renewable and will include a competitive start rate and benefits.

Employees will, over time, receive pay progression until they achieve the full job rate before being offered permanent job position.

“Our selection process starts with an online application so a questionnaire online and absolutely we are interested in members of our community applying, but we are interested in anyone that's interested.” he says.

If you're interested, you can find the application online here.
